Property Tax: A New Weapon for Terrorists?

Loading ...If you’ve built any hotels illegally during the 15 year civil war in Lebanon, watch out! You may be subject to property tax. Apparently while the country was preoccupied by war, several folks built hotels on government land by the coast. Maybe they thought the government wouldn’t notice or might forget. In fact, during that time the government changed hands a few times so maybe they were on to something.
Last week the Cabinet in Lebanon approved property taxes for every illegal beach resort according to the Daily Star of Lebanon. The government is controlled by Hezbollah, which as you might recall, is considered to a terrorist organization with major support from Iran and Syria.
So it seems that the terrorists have found a new weapon….. property taxes!
